"Move a sofa and chair outside to make space for a hospital bed". So far, so good - a typical Goodgym task. But there were three problems - firstly it was a Chesterfield sofa; secondly the hospital bed was to be delivered in 30 minutes; thirdly, due to a combination of misfortune and injury, I was the only Goodgymer who could attend.

So I busied myself removing the armchair and moving other furniture and possessions around to make space for the bed, all the while trying to work out how to move the sofa on my own. In the end I gave up on this idea and waited - talking to Mr F and his sister about motor-racing, Yorkshire Terriers and cats.

When the delivery driver arrived, he was so helpful and went well beyond his job description. Between the two of us, we had squeezed the sofa outside within 10 minutes, and he could get on with setting up the bed and demonstrating it's features. Hopefully a good night's sleep awaits Mr F tonight.
