9 do gooders hit the streets and took on a task at the Lordship Rec

Sibling rivalry

First up was the lovely Martha, closely followed by Dashing Dave and Sarah. We were joined by a new member who goes by the name Shay or was it Shaggy? Shouts out to Shay – great having you join us. Shay’s sister Shehnal joined us for the first time last week and has now roped her brother in. This was perfect for our warm up which saw everyone pair up, put their good arm behind their backs then try and tag each other’s shoulder. Sibling rivalry seemed to work well here. This is really good fun to watch as the group come together in a slightly frantic but choreographed dance. GGH entertainment at it’s best.

got their stain on

Warm up and briefing done we hit the street in search of this weeks light down at the Lordship Rec. This weeks task would see us return to the rec to take on the benches which needed staining. We’ve made things a little more fun than that, though. Every one gets a map, legs it to find their bench then stains it. So after Andrew the task owner explained things the group paired up, grabbed their map etc then got their stain on. Everybody did a smashing job here and managed to get their bench finished. Some even joined forces to get another bench done, while Vic and Shehnal showed great workmanship and focused on getting their bench absolutely perfect – love the dedication here guys. We managed to get another 5 benches done this week so that brings the total up to 10. Great job!

serious stuff!

We had sadly run out of time by this point but there was still some running to do. After gathering everyone together, cleaning up and saying our goodbyes to Andrew we headed the short distance to the mini road lay out where we’d be doing a fitness session which entailed the hustle and run (A relay where teams hustle on the spot while team mates go out and back then repeat). Sibling rivalry came in very handy here too as you’ll see in the pictures.. serious stuff! We also did the baby crawl.

sprint finish

Fitness session done we set off en route back to HQ, but not before getting caught in a hailstorm. As we approached HQ I cheered everyone one on along the home straight, prompting them to a sprint finish. Great seeing people dig in here. All that remained was a warm down stretch and some babbling from myself.

Shouts out to Shehnal, Dave, Sarah, and Ollie for contributing to this weeks pun.

Until next week folks

Stay good, keep fit and look out for the light!

We got some really cool pics. Although, after review I'm not sure how I feel about Paul's Tottenham Hotspur clad pose over DD - who's wearing lots of red. #Arsenal #Tottenham #NorthLondonDerby
