I'd not shopped for Mrs G for a while, so it was good to catch up this morning. We quickly ran through the list, and she offered me her trolley - but I said the bags should be fine...

Amazingly Lidl was (almost) an oasis of calm at 10am on a Friday morning but I found myself doing a few circuits of the aisles trying to find some of Mrs G's less familiar items, especially around the freezer section which I rarely visit on other shopping missions. Fortunately there weren't too many unwieldy blue trolleys to navigate around at this time of the morning.

Even more amazingly the checkout area wasn't its usual chaotic self either - I was glad of the multiple bags that Mrs G had handed me, and needed to put the heavier items in my backpack to balance the load (albeit that didn't stop the French stick bending neatly into two halves...) - but we came in on budget, and I was soon back at her door (much to her amazement - I assured her I hadn't run) with treasure in hand.
