Mission

A trim with vim and a dim strim(mer)

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Richmond.

A warm Spring morning saw a runner and a cyclist wend their way (past hundreds of fancy-dressed rugby fans) to Whitton for a front- and back-garden clearing mission.

We were greeted by Mrs P and shown to our task - both gardens overgrown with tall grass. We divided to conquer and got going with a strimmer each, immediately making a big impact. However it wasn’t long before one of the strimmers lost its strim, and after switching over it became apparent the other one hadn’t been fully operative in the first place. But we did our best and laid waste to the long lawn.

The other part of the task was cutting back the ivy around the washing line and this we did while comparing notes on half marathons and discussing the next runs we would be entering. Soon we were done and after a tidy up ready to head off.

A satisfying mission accomplished and Mrs P was delighted with the work... and now planning to get two strimmers fixed!
