Here's what Mr A of SE1 had to say about the mission:

Mr B's son said that he had never met such 'gems' and that the volunteers were excellent and so helpful. We really appreciate your service and the work you did to facilitate Mr B returning home. Thank you so much!

Mr A of SE1, mission beneficiary

Tuesday night saw Nicky and I (experienced Mission colleagues) meeting pretty much at the centre of the Elephant & Castle junction and ascending halfway up one of the original tower blocks to rearrange Mr A’s flat.

Our patron was due to be discharged from the nearby St Thomas’ so his son was on hand to set us to task. The job was to create a microenvironment by clearing the front room to welcome a hospital bed; the small matter of dismantling the old bed and shifting some chairs and tables was dealt with in record time and we were in and out within a half hour. After posing for a photo at altitude, we were on our way home (or back to work for me).
