I phoned M to see how she’s been getting on this week. She told me that she had a funny story for me: she’d been seen by the physio and this physio turned out to be quite the “sergeant major”, as M put it. Apparently she ordered her to do various impossible exercises with a slightly strict (to say the least?!) bedside manner. M said it was a good job I wasn’t there as she was certain I’d have been in fits of laughter.

Aside from her acrobatics lesson, M told me that she has been doing well and will be just having an overnight carer on alternate nights. The OT in me can’t get my head around the logic for that but I’m sure there is some somewhere...

I thanked M for making me laugh with her sergeant major story and told her that I expect her to be trapeezing across chandeliers within a week!
