A Hilly Fields Advent-ure

One GoodGymmer walked 8km delivering fund-raising calendars for the Marsha Phoenix Trust

The Marsha Phoenix Trust is a wonderful organisation, just along the road from Hilly Fields. They provide accommodation for young homeless women, between the ages of 16-21. This year their fundraising events have been challenged, but they need our support more than ever.

To raise money (and put a smile on people’s faces) they have produced a calendar featuring beautiful photographs of Hilly Fields (you can find details here).

My job today was to deliver the calendars to nearby streets, saving residents from leaving their homes. It was a gorgeous morning to be exploring Brockley, Crofton Park and Ladywell and I got to have a chat with some of those who had tiny letterboxes that wouldn’t accommodate the envelope.

We have a task set up this Saturday, helping to tidy the garden at the Marsha Phoenix Trust. We hope to continue these visits throughout the year, so keep an eye out for future activities.
