This community mission was all about covering a route created by Slow Ways to make sure it was safe and accessible.

Beth and Richard met outside Newcastle Central Station, braving some dubious weather (it threatened to rain but didn't) and some boisterous Newcastle United fans to complete the route to Longbenton, a distance of approximately four and a half miles. All was well with the route, although shoes were muddied a little in Jesmond Dene. It was such a delightful day out that after completing their mission, Beth and Richard decided to retrace their steps and run the route in reverse back to Newcastle Central Station, getting in some useful extra training miles ahead of some races later in the year.
