> Many Hands Really DO Make Light Work!

Wow! Another fantastic GoodGym Group Run tonight when 15 runners helped to sort clothes for the homeless at the Lighthouse Centre in Crewe.

> > Welcome It was lovely to welcome new participants, Greg, Maurice & Amanda! We hope you had a great time and we really hope that you will come and join us on another run again soon!

> News A massive well done to Claire who completed the Chester Metric Marathon this weekend. Well done Claire, fantastic achievement! What's the next goal?

> Buzzin Our evening started with a cheeky biscuit (well why not!) before we headed out onto the green for our warm up. The usual crazy antics once again started with Nicola trying to establish the difference between clockwise and anti-clockwise (will I ever get it right?!). We played a silly name game and for some reason, we seemed to have a lot of people with the name John tonight - not quite sure how that happened - are you John? ;-)

We headed out to our task. John kindly lead the walking group while Barry and Pam were the back markers for the runners. We had a lovely sunset once again tonight and our challenge was to say hello to everyone we passed. I think we succeeded - one poor lady who was sat minding her own business in a pub we passed must have wondered what was going on when we all turned round in unison to wave at her! She may not have heard of GoodGym before tonight but she certainly knows about us now!

We arrived at the Lighthouse Centre and were welcomed by Rev. David Edwards who was so grateful to have us there to do a task that he said simply wouldn't have got done. We formed a long chain to get all the bags of clothes from the external shed into the main hall for sorting. We sorted dozens of bags, separating suitable winter clothes from everything else. With a real team effort, we got through every bag and boxed all the suitable clothing into plastic containers ready to be distributed. It's simply AMAZING what can be achieved when a group of 15 willing volunteers spend 40 minutes working together. I know we made a real difference to the Lighthouse Centre this evening and ultimately, the homeless who will be needing clothes.

We ran back to base (weather amazingly kind to us once again this week - long may it continue!) where we spent 10 minutes doing an Ab workout (counted out in Spanish, French, German & Welsh) followed by our stretches.

However, I'm certain the highlight of everyone's evening was our fact of the week - Hippopotamus milk is Pink! Who knew?!!!

Thanks guys for another amazing night. Special thanks to Phil for the pun - so much better than anything I would ever have come up with (you may have got yourself a new job - Official Pun Writer!). And I've enjoyed listening to the Lighthouse Family while I've been writing this report. Here's the link to 'Lifted'
