Report written by Andrew Robson
Hello tender children,
Today was this years penultimate community mission for us but there was still plenty to get done. However, it wasn't all destruction today. I mean, there was a lot of destruction, it wouldn't be a parks task without destruction and some unwanted trees and shrubs sadly bit the dust.
This time though, they were replaced. Elves have spoken a lot at these tasks about wanting to plant trees after all the destruction and today was the day. We planted: hazelnut trees; redcurrent trees; blueberry bushes; blackcurrent bushes, redcurrent bushes and gooseberry bushes, which will take hold over winter before flourishing next year.
There were also rose bushes to rehome. These had been growing in multiple beds over the years but we united them all to make a massive amorphous rose bush. Before relocating they were all given a haircut so they would be confident on their first day at their new home.
While all this was happening Andy wrestled with some stubborn tree trunks to free up room for the fresher trees. The postgrad trees were disposed off in a bush to rot.
Oh, nearly forgot. We got Mike a cup of his own face for Christmas because nothing says Christmas like your own face.
