13 GoodGymers hit the street, took on a 6k run and a task at Rowland Hill School and Children’s Centre

Ollie for reaching his monumental 50th good deed and Hazel for the delicious brownies

As we congregated at Tottenham Green Leisure centre Hazel who bared gifts in the form of brownies joined us. With this and the buzz around Ollie getting his 50th good deed under his belt we were pretty much raring to go come 7pm. Shouts out to Ollie for for reaching a monumental 50th good deed and Hazel for the delicious brownies. Here’s to another 50… of each! Oh and shouts out to Dashing Dave who came along to congratulate Ollie. Dave wasn’t running with us as he had a race the following day. Good luck with the race DD!! With a quick warm up and briefing done we set off along Philip Lane… Not forgetting the obligatorily #BridgePic along the way.

Our goal is to get the pit replenished before the kids go back to school

on arrival at Rowland Hill we all took some fluids before filming a little good luck message for Dashing Dave. (I hope you liked our Facebook page after viewing that vid? Please skoot back over if not! Don’t forget to follow us on twitter too!! That done, this week’s light Tony was introduced. He then explained what we’d be doing. We’d been tasked with re filling a sandpit. You could see lots of fun was had here as there was hardly any sand left in the pit. Our goal is to get the pit replenished before the kids go back to school on the 5th September. With this in mind we have a huge job on our hands, as there were 17 tons that needed shifting. With all our sweat, hard work and one our two sand and bin puns we had managed to shift two tons of sand… quality! There is still loots of sand that needs shifting mind.. yes, er 15 tons. Fancy helping us shift some this Saturday for a last minute mission? CLICK HERE!

#PositivelyCharged.

With a few last rakes of the sand we were out of time. Tony was super chuffed about the graft we’d done and we even got a thank you for the work we’d done the previous week from Sandy who, as she lives close by, come over to check in with us and say hello. We quickly regrouped and began a brief fitness session, which involved pairs competing against each other while doing a plank or sit ups. That done, and a quick joke about Tony’s T-shirt and soca giving me powers, we marked Ollie’s fantastic fifty with fifty high fives.. just how he likes them too. While taking some more liquids we topped up on some magnesium sulphate lost via sweating profusely. While we did so, I mentioned Epsom salts and the conductivity between your body and the magnesium while you bathe in it #PositivelyCharged.

Sand and sweat are not a great combination but we made it work

After saying our good byes we were off again. It was actually pretty cool for it to rain a little as we made our return journey.. the cooling effect was definitely welcomed. After hitting the home straight at an increased pace followed by a sprint finish and warm down we were done. Sand and sweat are not a great combination but we made it work and look forward to returning next week

until then.. stay fit – do good and look out for the light
