17 GoodGymers ran 5-6km, helped Cecil Sharp House & conquered Primrose Hill!

Welcome along to newbies Nick and Helen, great to have you as part of the group on a bit of a cold evening. In the news this week:

  1. It’s GoodGym Monthly Drinks tonight come along, Pritesh will be happy :)
  2. We are doing Regents Park 10km on Sunday 10th December, it's going to be great - John Shirley (New Taskforce Member) will be organising things.

Well this evening started with taking an alternative route to Cecil Sharp House via Camden High Street but we all got there and were welcomed by Susannah.

Cecil Sharp House is a brilliant charity we help on a monthly basis with their gardens. Like most community groups they now receive very little funding from local government so rely on holding events in their garden and building to keep going. That’s where we come in!

Folking around

Armed with all manner of tools we split into two teams, one around the front and car park, and the other on the main lawn. Sweeping, raking, grabbing and bagging all those leaves. The majority of the leaves collected will be turned into compost which is great for the plants and flowers - they love the fungi!

In no time at all we’d collected up 15 bags of leaves and finished with a beautiful group photo. Susannah said it would have taken her 4-5 hours to do what we did in 20 minutes, pretty amazing! After saying our goodbyes we headed to Primrose Hill, picking up Ricardo who was running in his GoodGym top on the way - fitness session as follows:

  • 3 x shuttle runs using lamposts
  • Primrose Hill climb - arms, posture and legs!

What a corking view Primrose Hill provides, especially on a clear night. Heading into the night home we went the ‘regular’ route… obvs.

Thanks to New Taskforce Member Katherine for the pun suggestion! You guys are awesome, you make a huge difference and get fit while you are doing it too!

Sign up for next week here, we are off to help St Mary’s Flats community group.

PB out.
