It's always great to take a paws from your usual Saturday morning routine and help a great organisation like the Bike Garden.

We returned for our weekly volunteering to tidy up this beautiful public space, making it safer (particularly at night) for the locals.

Tanya, Deb and Emily took the lead, arriving first to begin cutting down many of the hedges that had grown tall, limiting the visibility along the main pathway. Ross and I arrived a little later and also got stuck in, secretly excited that they'd only left us the REALLY big secateurs. With a full team we made quick work of it, making sure we had the job done and were ready for tea and biscuits at 11!

We only come for the tea and biscuits - Deb

Of course, it wouldn't be a GoodGym mission without a bit of entertainment and today's star was our new four-legged-friend, Florie. She belonged to another volunteer and was definitely out 'fitness task' as we threw balls for her (until one got stuck very high in a tree) and then sticks which she liked to eat. I'm definitely aiming to have a GoodGym dog by the end of 2018...Florie would fit right in - she's even a Parkrun Pro!

We'll be heading back to help at Nunsmoor Park very soon, so keep an eye on our Group Run listings.
