An old kitchen sink makes an ideal garden planter, was the thought on everyone's minds when we arrived at Marsha Phoenix Trust to see a mountain of discarded units and other rubbish outside, awaiting collection after a refurbishment project. The strain of lifting the sink was no big deal, thanks to Jacqueline's idea of using a wheelie bin for transport... in no time, it was in place beside a border, ready for planting - a satisfying start to our morning's work pruning, sweeping, tidying fruit bushes and re-locating bulbs for springtime.
