All Work and (no) Play (scrapstore) makes (Good)Jim a dull boy

2 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Wandsworth.

On a sunny Saturday two GoodGymers arrived at Wandsworth Work and Play scrapstore to help set up a children's festival for a local charity. (A fairly sweaty) Graham turned up having run a lovely 10k down the Thames and Weadle rivers from Hammersmith. Emily turned up a bit more gracefully, having walked from home. But she was recovering from a major race, and the physio had decreed no running. The physio giveth, and the physio taketh away. Forgiven.

Our two heroes wasted no time in cracking on: setting up gazebos, shifting chairs, putting up posters, and generally doing the sort of useful manual labour we normally do at GoodGym. After an hour of shifting and lifting, we were encouraged to get involved with some of the more creative kind-of work. Despite protestations from both parties that we lacked any creative skills, we were roped into design work on a few stalls - making paper chains, and the like. I reckon we did pretty well. A 7/10 effort for the paper chains, at least.

After about 2hrs good work, the clock hit 12, with the festival set up just-in-time for attendees to start coming in. Fringe festival set up. Mayor arrived. Mission accomplished.
