On Wednesday, we returned to Glyndon Community Centre to face that greatest of frenemies - the Wall. And to do some weeding. For those who did the weeding, it won’t feature half as much in this report. Unless by the end of the report I decide I’ll just invent what I thought happened out there.*

First of all, a big welcome to Khai, making his debut with Greenwich Goodgym. We’ll hopefully see you again!

The wall was originally a wonderful sky blue. A few weeks ago we gave it a touch of silver. And on Wednesday we completely covered in with blue once again. In fact “New Dawn”. Who comes up with paint names? I’d like that job. On a recent teaching course, we were asked to invent our own new colour associated with trees, and give it a name. Never ones to take a task seriously, my group’s suggestion “Warm Golden Brown” - the colour of the bark after a dog has cocked its leg against it, probably wasn’t what the facilitator was expecting.

As it was pointed out to me, I’ve rather spent all of my paint puns in an earlier report. Can’t be glossed over. Should have kept my powder dry. But I’m not going to give you the brush off. I’ll think of a new theme. Something will come to me like a bolt from the blue.

Azure as we were that three small paintbrushes wouldn’t get it all done, we buzzed around like blue-arsed-flies and covered the entire thing. A real once in a blue moon achievement. Andy said it blue him away. And that banished my Wednesday work blues. That’s probably all the blue puns I can think of. Someone’s going to scream blue murder if I try anymore.

*As for the group outside, let’s just say Julian and the gang fought a heroic battle against flesh-eating weeds, twice the size of a London bus, that were about to take over Woolwich. There was action, romance and a plot twist no one saw coming, but none of it compared to painting a wall.
