It was lovely to see so many faces back from last week's starter session, plus a brand new one in the form of Gillian, scouting the area for her company move in May (warning, we may have 300 people turning up to GoodGym Islington in a few months)

This week it was back to Barnsbury Community Centre to paint the wall that we ripped the table from last week.

Sanding first, getting rid of those nasty bumps left by all the filler.

Then we moved on to the painting itself. There were lots of roller heads, but no roller arms, so we each got a paintbrush (some smaller than others) and set about doing our best to minimise brush strokes (because of youuuuuuuuu.......)

This was all fine, what wasn't fine was those bloody lines! Normally, if you put paint on something it changes the colour of it. I mean, that's the point of painting. OK, with darker colours you might need to go over twice, but these pencil lines on the wall must have been radioactive. After about six coats they were finally starting to vanish.

Half an hour of work and the wall was looking much better and we reckon one more coat with a roller and they'll be tip-top,

Jeroen - local Henry Hoover expert - did his job and we were off.

On the way home we practised hill technique. Three points to remember:

1) Drive the elbows
2) Nice, quick cadence
3) Lead with the knees, not the feet

Then we asked everybody what the best way to get up a hill was:

1) Saba: Horse and Carriage
2) Lina: Piggyback (being carried, not carrying)
3) Jeroen: Run, but don't bend at the hips!
4) Patrick: Ski list
5) Rosy: Run, but don't think of two things at once. Your head will explode
6) Gillian: Car, but being driven, not driving
7) Bianca: Use your legs!

Good tasking everybody and thanks again to Patrick for saving the day with double chocolate biscuits.

See you on Monday for a real variety of tasks,
Simon
