Laughing in the face of a potential downpour GG Brent's all girl crew turned out in force for a rumble in the jungle.

Welcoming Emily our newbie in the midst, a mass of smiling faces congregated in our beloved Queensbury for catch-ups and chats, before heading off to the mission at hand. This week the race was on to get to Harlesden Town Gardens for a mass of gardening action in order to tame the wild overgrowth and get the place looking ship shape in time for their epic community day, this coming weekend.

We 'stormed' down the high road, hoping the weather wouldn't, weaving and bobbing as we raced our way to Challenge Close. Battling through the muggy haze, the gang stepped up a notch as we Lightening-bolted down the last mile towards our destination, arriving unscathed and dry - Thank GoodGymness WHO RUN THE WORLD GIRLS!

Greeted by the wonderful Gabrielle who explained the task at hand - Tame the jungle and neaten up the allotments with some serious shearing!! LETS GO

Armed with our cutters of choice we set to work, scissoring our way through overgrown grass and bushes galore. With half the crew on cutting duties the other half were shape shifters, as in - Shift the shape of that mound of dirt into the compost heap. Of course never one to miss an opportunity to cross-train, Andrea helped the cause by launching debris in the style of an olympic shot-putter and schooled us in the art of upper-body strength, while Hans, Emily and Ellie took on the high jump approach, for some serious slow-mo filing action - All important parts of the training of course and definitely not just for fun.......

With our all girl crew FEMALE EMPOWERMENT rung in the air and who better than to cheer us on, than Chaka Khan playing out of the iPhone as loud as she could. Followed quickly by the weather girls, but this week, no raining (Yay) or men (Sigh).

After 30mins of hard graft, the overgrown gardens were looking neat once more. Now safely out of the jungle, there's was time for some monkeying around - Pull-Up practice on the monkey bars and a hang-tough challenge to finish. Pull-Up practice over, we turned on our heels and raced back home for a well deserved H2O and chill.

Another week with GG Brent complete, with 8 Chicas storming 7k. We avoided the rain and did some good, with a task of (Garden) shear bliss.

See you next time!!!!

DO GOOD. FEEL GOOD. INSPIRE

My first run with GG Brent group was ace! What an awesome group of ladies! A great run and task. And you can't beat a bit of slo-mo action filming.
