Foundry Wood Community Woodland
Foundry Wood is an urban community woodland situated in the heart of Leamington Spa and Warwick. Through the provision of access, facilities, interpretation and activities, visitors to Foundry Wood will have a unique and enjoyable experience and the opportunity to learn about woodland habitats, wildlife conservation, traditional woodland crafts, and broader environmental issues.

What we’ll be doing

Join us for a rewarding morning helping care for the beautiful Foundry Wood! These monthly volunteer sessions focus on maintaining and improving the woodland for both wildlife and the local community.

Tasks are seasonal and varied, and may include:

Clearing paths and managing vegetation Habitat maintenance Light conservation and woodland care work

No experience needed—just come ready to get stuck in.

🍕 Optional social: Pizza-making session

After the session, there’s a chance to relax and refuel with a pizza-making lunch from 12:00–14:00.

Make your own vegetarian pizza Cost: ÂŁ5 per person A great opportunity to socialise and connect with other volunteers

(Participation is completely optional, but a fun way to round off the morning!)

Meeting point

We’ll meet at the Outdoor Classroom (the covered area in the centre of the wood).

What to bring & wear Long sleeves and trousers (recommended) Waterproofs/layers depending on weather Sturdy footwear (boots or wellies ideal) Gloves or tools (optional—provided if you don’t have any) Who can join?

Everyone is welcome! Whether you’re a regular GoodGym runner or brand new, it’s a friendly and inclusive session.
