Manchester Central Foodbank

With winter on the horizon, Manchester South Central Foodbank have a regular Holiday Hunger donation drive to help:

"At our food bank we are currently supporting around 100 clients a week. With the rising price of food and bills, people in our area are struggling to choose between heating and eating. You can support people in your local area by donating to us. Last year we distributed 1033 holiday hunger food parcels to families in crisis. Our Holiday Hunger project provides a lifeline for families during the school holidays, by providing food parcels containing breakfast and lunch items and reading activities."

If you have any items on the list in the picture, please take them along.

Even if you can't donate in person, they also have:

I'll be dropping off food at either the Big ASDA in Hulme or the big Tesco in Stretford (Tesco, Chester Road, Stretford, Manchester, M32 0QW). There is a donation point there for Manchester South Central foodbank and is open until late. There are other locations listed on their website.

Manchester Central Foodbank also have a few locations in Manchester for accepting food donations to provide for those who need it. For other nearby foodbanks/donation points, Trussell Trust have a handy search tool.

Walkable

You will be able to join a group walking to the task if you'd prefer not to run.

Options are available to run between 3km and 6km in total

Remember that we run/walk to and from the task, so you'll only be running/walking for half this distance in one go.

This is a standard GoodGym group run. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact us.
