Manchester South Central Foodbank have a regular Holiday Hunger donation drive to help:

"At our food bank we are currently supporting around 100 clients a week. With the rising price of food and bills, people in our area are struggling to choose between heating and eating. You can support people in your local area by donating to us. Last year we distributed 1033 holiday hunger food parcels to families in crisis. Our Holiday Hunger project provides a lifeline for families during the school holidays, by providing food parcels containing breakfast and lunch items and reading activities."

We will be running approximately 1.4 miles (~2.3 km) from St Peter's Square (outside the Central Library, What3words: ///think.forum.votes) to ASDA Hulme (Asda, 100 Princess Rd, Hulme, Manchester M15 5AS). There is a donation point there for Manchester South Central foodbank and is open until late.

If you wish to meet directly at ASDA in Hulme, please let us know by commenting at the bottom of the page.

Manchester Central Foodbank also have a few locations in Manchester for accepting food donations to provide for those who need it. For other nearby foodbanks/donation points, Trussell Trust have a handy search tool.

About GoodGym

We're a friendly and social group who combine exercise with helping out in the local community. We meet every week to get active and do a physical task to help the charities and community organisations and projects across the Manchester region.

The Run/Walk/Cycle

GoodGym is for everyone. We welcome runners of all abilities. We always have a back-marker so no-one is left behind - we're about achieving something together so you'll always be welcome no matter what your pace is.

Our run will begin at ~6:20 pm on Monday 19th May from St Peter's Square.

Dress appropriately for outdoor conditions.

You will be able to join a group walking to the task if you'd prefer not to run.

Options are available to run between 3km and 6km in total

Remember that we run/walk to and from the task, so you'll only be running/walking for half this distance in one go.
