13 Goodgymers hit the street, ran 6k and dished out some flyers for Crutch Haringey

Big shouts out to Justyna who came along to her first GoodGym Haringey group run. Give her a cheer y’all!

Warm welcome

Hazel was first up this week and it was a pleasant surprise having her along to join us again. Hazel carried great news of Barnet’s success and popularity along with the unfortunate news that Penny the Barnet trainer had sprained her ankle. Get well soon Penny!!! Then came the rest of the gang and an olive skinned Dashing Dave fresh from his trip to the tropics. Nice to hear you got a few runs in while away D! Shouts out to Sarah too for getting some pretty amazing times of late including a new PB check out her profile and give her a cheer here

The task (and the love)

So, after our warm up (and a story) and briefing we headed in the direction of the worst football team in the land and an estate called Rothbury Walk Estate where we’d be dishing out a fair few flyers to tenants of the estate. We went door to door and dropped job fair leflets through the doors. We’ve done this task before and with great success as a number of Rothbury Walk Estate residents went along to Crutch and took advantage of the services on offer and mentioned they got the leaflets through their doors. I must add that we ended up having a few residents pop their heads out while we were leafleting and they were all super friendly and seemed to welcome our presence on the estate. Never judge a book and all that! We dished out loads of flyers and hit around 7 blocks of flats before running out of time and heading back toward HQ.. virtual high fives guys 🙌🏽

Being a lover and certainly not a hater etc before we left I just had to mention the love I was feeling within the group this was mainly based on a few comments Oli made but there were a few other little things that happened during the session and I hope it was the general consensus within the group!?!

Fitness session

This weeks fitness session was performed on the move en route back to HQ with some out and backs for those who wanted to take part. These were made up of 50 meter sprints out with a further 30 meter cool off jog before turning around and sprinting back toward the group and repeat. We then upped the pace along the home straight and threw in a high knees run along the last 100 meters.

Stretches and a few more laughs ensued.

Shouts out to Oli the high five (and love) guy for the pun 👊

Oh and shouts out to DD for the phone number hand outs
