Today's task didn't require any cutting hedge technology, just hard graft and good humour which the GoodGymers supplied in abundance. We were lucky enough to be joined by some local residents keen to help us cut back the hedges and make the pavements safe for pedestrians.

Most importantly we were delighted to be joined by Sheila Sheila who deserves a HUGE well done for hitting a major milestone - 50 good deeds!!!

The task went well - Tessa Tessa and Amanda hedged their bets early and got stuck into the lower branches whilst Sheila, the star of today's task, whipped out the big guns and attacked the thick tree stumps. Amy joined us with enthusiasm for the higher sections and together we cleared another massive section of the urban jungle.

After 90 minutes the group were bushed and devoured (lots of yummy) cake to thank Sheila for all her wonderful GoodGym volunteering and to celebrate her amazing 50 good deeds milestone.

Sheila is a star! She has worked hard at the vaccination clinics, the Baby Bank, and all over the place! We are pretty sure that she has set a local record for fastest to 50 good deeds clocking up 7, or maybe 8, good deeds in the last week (another record).

Sheila has written a whole heap of run reports, helped lots of others feel welcome, taught us more than a thing or two about gardening, been on missions to help some of our isolated neighbours at home, assembled our bunting, made us an amazing flag, and been a champion of active travel - cycling all over the place no matter the weather.

In the last couple of months Sheila has been injured, which would have been the excuse for many to put their feet up, but she has taken every chance to keep fit and do good deeds. She even baked her own chocolate cake to celebrate her big GoodGym milestone, which together with the cupcakes from Amanda, meant we had another record breaking event... the people to cake ratio! The sugar rush really took the hedge off!

Well done everyone today and well done Sheila on your amazing achievement!!
