Today’s task was with FareShare in Deptford - a national organisation that receives huge amounts of almost-expired food every week from supermarkets around the country, and re-distributes it amongst local charities. Goodgymmers may be familiar with the green plastic crates as they arrive at other tasks - well, this is where they are born.

They have been receiving more deliveries and donations lately, and were really glad of the help. Fortunately there was a 10-strong Goodgym team to sort and shift over 5 tons of food in 3 hours, which is over 10,000 meals!

We got to wear some fancy footwear, found the original copy of the bible (what they call the list of food categories and weights) and saved a huge amount of food from being wasted, and instead have made a great difference to a lot of people!
