Neither fish, flesh, fowl, nor GoodGym red herring

Did you ever notice (no, neither did I!) the carvings on the front of the house in Alice Park next to the community garden. They’re pretty obvious, four huge carvings containing pictures and the words to the proverb/idiom "Neither fish, flesh, fowl, nor good red herring".

Anyways, that’s just an aside, and just something I noticed as we were leaving following the mission (Meyrick was carrying a massive, heavy wooden palette to the carpark, and I was, er, supervising...)

We were there - Cosmo made three - for our monthly helpout session at the community garden. This one was extra exciting as Bath in Bloom were due to visit at the same time as us, to judge the garden for its annual horticultural awards.

First up Meyrick and I finished up with the leftovers of the massive pile of bark chips just outside the entrance, to help fill in a section of path, and also to help landscape around the pond at the new space at the back of the site.

We took the opportunity to tidy up the area where the bark chip pile has been, and also Meyrick got a broom and swept the entrance area just to make it that extra bit presentable for the arrival of the Bloom judges! (these are the extra bits of detail you get with GoodGym... :)

Meanwhile, Cosmo was replanting a climber next to the covered seating area at the rear of the site.

Afterwards we trimmed a big hedge at the bottom end of the site, and then joined all the volunteers for coffee and biscuits and a nice chat.
