35 awesome runners donned headlights for the first time and tackled two gardening tasks plus learned how to make honey. Sweet!

Two fabby tasks this week, plus week 2 of Bake Off - this week BISCUITS!

Task 1 was led by John Hunter: Twelve of us ran 2.5km up Brixton Hill to help at the Palace Road Nature Gardens, where Gerry had two tasks for us. David and Jim volunteered to pull on the wellies and got on with clearing weeds from the pungent pond. The rest of us were asked to clear ivy from, and try to cut down, a not insubstantial tree stump. With Tom Benson's new (and very bright) work lamp deployed we set about the task with vigour and a great selection of bladed implements, and even managed to unearth an interesting selection of lost property along the way. We didn't quite managed to fell the stump, but Gerry was delighted with how we'd tackled one of the locals' favourite hide and seek spots. (Thanks George for the run report!)

There'll be no bonking behind that bush! Said Tom Benson, to Gerry's delight

Task 2 was led by Katie: 23 of us ran 2.5km down Brixton Road to the lovely Kennington Park and Barnaby's Bees! We split into two groups and whilst one lot went off for some fitness, the rest got on with turning compost and spreading it on beds. A lucky four even got to learn the process of how to make honey, from comb to jar! For fitness we did some Elephant File around the park - running in single file and when the whistle blows the back runner sprints to the front.

On return to base, we enjoyed Nelly and Freyja's biscuits - chocolate sandwiches and white chocolate and custard respectively. YUM! An excellent time had by all :)
