Getting there

For this session we're going to meet at the task, so you'll need to make your own way there. We encourage you to walk, run, or cycle to do so!

    About this session

The organisers of Derby Summer Sessions at Markeaton Park are looking for some support to ensure the festival runs smoothly.

Volunteers are needed to assist accessible guests at the entrance and directing them to the accessible platform area. You'll help with finding them a suitable seat/location in the accessible area, give people accessible wristbands on arrival and be helping with customer queries at the accessible area. Volunteers will be provided with a hi vis, please wear suitable clothing for the weather forecast as you'll be outside for the entire session.

A briefing will be from the festival organisers and not someone from GoodGym for this session.

Please report to the accreditation office on arrival via the staff entrance (Gate X) to collect your accreditation to wear. WHAT3WORDS: again.shots.lunch

Here is the travel advice from the organisers of the festival.

The timings have been amended for the Summer Sessions event on Sunday in response to England reaching the Euros 2024 final.

To celebrate their success, the festival will be showing the match on the BIGGEST screen in Derby and gates now open at 2pm with DECO, Lightning Seeds, Rick Astley and Madness performing before the game.

Volunteers will have the chance to stay and watch the match from 8pm if they want to - after singing along to the iconic Lightning Seeds anthem 'Three Lions'.

The Sunday night headliner is Madness. Full information about the festival can be found here.

Volunteers are also needed on Friday and Saturday, please check other listings for these.

We are looking for volunteers to help with our accessible area and accessible customers at Derby Summer Sessions. The role is working alongside the accessibility team on show days at the festival.

The Accessibility team is responsible for making sure that all disabled, d/deaf/hard of hearing and/or neurodivergent customers have an enjoyable and inclusive experience during their time at Derby Summer Sessions. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the festival team and gain an insight in how accessibility is managed during a large-scale music event. The job role will involve the below: • Assisting the accessible guests from the entrance and directing them to the accessible area at the festival • Assisting customers to find a seat/spot in the accessible area. • Customer service on the platform and advising customers on any queries they have. • Wrist banding accessible customers on arrival. Timings being approx 4pm – 9.30pm. Volunteers will have the chance to watch some of the show too and stay to enjoy the festival if they want too at the end of their shift.
