For this session we're going to meet at the task, so you'll need to make your own way there. We encourage you to walk, run, or cycle to do so!
Help the team of volunteers at Derby BMX Club with some track maintenance ahead of some race events.
Volunteers are needed during the two week maintenance planned for the track.
Jobs include barrowing the track surface, raking, smoothing, weeding, edging etc. The work will be manual and is all outside.
Please wear old clothes suitable for weather on the day and some old trainers or boots to do some manual outside volunteering in.
There will be a team with track building knowledge and some plant equipment is being hired and used by the team to distribute the bulk of surface materials around the track and then instruct on what jobs need doing. Please not you won't be expected to use any of this equipment.
Refreshments will be provided for volunteers and there is free parking next to the track.
Please sign up if you are attending and remove yourself from the register if you can no longer make it so I can keep the task owner, Dena, updated.
You can take part at any point during this session which is running from 9am to 4pm.
Please note that you may be the only volunteer from GoodGym at this session and there won't be an Area Activator (Rachel) present. You will be fully supported and in good hands with volunteers from the track and won't be expected to be helping out on your own.
If you can't make this date, take a look at others listed as the team need help across two weeks and are even volunteering on the bank holiday Monday.
