We have been asked by Friends of Turnham Green to plant some more cowslip plugs, as they have funding for a couple of trays with 150 little plantlets.
The main constraint is to plant before any winter frosts start -so we're going to try and get them all in the ground tonight. Please bring head torches if you have them! The advantage of planting now - rather than early spring - is that the little plants can establish roots while the soil is likely to be reasonably wet, whereas springtime these days is a bit unpredictable.
This is a task that will make a big difference in the spring, when people will be able to enjoy the result of our hard work!
Make sure you've read our general guidelines for safety for taking part in a GoodGym session.
This is a GoodGym group run, with the option of walking too. You'll meet other GoodGymers at the start location and run or walk to the task together. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact your area activator Anastasia Hancock (she/her) by email at ana@goodgym.org.
The total distance of this group run is 2km.
Remember that we will be running or walking to and from the task, so you'll only be running or walking for half this distance in one go.
