In a few week's time we are super excited to be partnering with our friends at Holy Trinity to put on a screening of the People's Emergency Briefing film!
As if that wasn't enough we are having a collab session with This Girl Can (see below)
The National Emergency Briefing (NEB) exists to help create a social tipping point towards a government-led, prime-time televised national emergency briefing, on the climate and nature crisis, introduced by the Prime Minister and delivered by trusted independent experts. Like the public briefings during the Covid pandemic, it would give everyone access to clear, authoritative information about the risks we face, the opportunities ahead, and the actions needed to protect Britain’s future.
The People’s Emergency Briefing film, together with the communities that screen it, is the catalyst for that ambition.
The aim is simple: screenings everywhere, for everyone.
Each screening is followed by a facilitated discussion, creating a calm, inclusive and non-judgemental civic space where people can engage with the evidence, connect locally, and build a shared sense of understanding and practical agency.
We are heading out this eve to raise as much awareness as possible of the screening so flyering, stopping and chatting to people and generally acting like running soap box yellers!!
*This autumn marks the fourth year of Let's Lift the Curfew, the national movement from This Girl Can aiming to end the curfew imposed on women by safety fears during darker nights. *
Every year, the clocks go back – and every year, women’s worlds shrink.
When the clocks go back on Sunday 25 October, millions of women across the UK will once again see their world get smaller as the nights get darker.
Safety concerns affect where they go, when they go, who they go with and whether they can be active outdoors at all.
Let's Lift the Curfew challenges this reality to ensure no woman has to change where, when or how she gets active because of safety concerns.
Fun! get involved :0)
