Join us to support Wild Green E13, a grassroots community group transforming Upperton Road West Park into a thriving, sustainable urban garden 🌿
Founded in 2019, Wild Green E13 is all about bringing people together—creating a welcoming space where the local community can connect, learn new skills, and experience nature and wildlife right in the heart of the city. Their garden isn’t just a green space—it’s a hub for positive change, biodiversity, and community spirit.
They’re a small but dedicated team, and this is where we come in.
We’ll be rolling up our sleeves to help:
Clear an overgrown path and make the space more accessible
Weed borders, beds, and planters to help plants thrive
Carry out general garden maintenance to keep things looking great
Your efforts will make an immediate, visible difference—helping maintain a space that benefits people of all ages and backgrounds, supports local wildlife, and promotes sustainable urban living.
How to join
There are two ways to join:
Option 1 – Run from the Freaks & Geeks (sign-up above - bag drop available)
We’ll meet at 18:30 and leave shortly after with a gentle jog of about 3km to the task. We always have a backmarker and no one is left behind.
Option 2 – Meet at the task
Meet us directly at the community garden at 19:00.
Expect fresh air, good company, and the satisfaction of helping a community garden flourish 🌼
Wild Green E13Wild Green E13 is a voluntary community organisation, founded in 2019, concerned with the design, establishment, and maintenance of a community garden in the Upperton Road West Park. The Wild Green E13 aims are as follows: • By the community, for the community: they aim to bring local people, of all ages and backgrounds, together. • Positive change: they aim to create a space which will foster positive change in their local area. • Immersive wildlife experience: they aim to offer opportunities to learn and engage with nature and wildlife in their urban garden for all. • Sustainability: because of the climate crisis, they aim to create a sustainable, low impact, urban garden
