Hi everyone and welcome to GoodGym Greenwich!
We're a friendly and social group who combine running with volunteering in the local community. We meet every Wednesday to get active and do a physical task for charities and community organisations in the area.
The Task
This week we'll be moving the much loved rowing boat out of the community garden and replacing it with a shiny new boat. This will involve shovelling lots of soil out, team lifting and shovelling soil back in so be prepared for a good work out. There will be other gardening to do for those who need a lighter job this week.
The Run
The run will be about 2.5km each way. Everyone is welcome at any pace but we generally say if you can run for 15-20minutes you will be fine on one of our runs.
Where & When
This week we'll meet at 6.45pm for a 7pm start at Charlton House. The what three words location is "army.rips.spicy". Give Rachel a call on 07952192005 if you can't find us! The session will be about 90 minutes in total so we should be all wrapped up by 8.30pm.
If you want to meet at the task you can meet at the gate on the footpath close to the A2. The what-three-words location is ///anyone.voting.down. We will be there about 7.20pm and will stay until 8ish. Please let me know in the comments if you want to meet us there.
What To Bring
Please bring some gloves if you have some, otherwise it's just yourself!
See you then!
Make sure you've read our general guidelines for safety for taking part in a GoodGym session.
This is a GoodGym group run. You'll meet other GoodGymers at the start location and run to the task together. If you can't run for more than 15 minutes without stopping or you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact your area activator Rachel Henry by email at rachelhenry@goodgym.org.
Area Activator at GoodGym Greenwich. I love community and getting to know all the great initiatives and people that make it what it is!
