Welcome to GoodGym Barnet!
We're a friendly and social group who combine exercise with helping out in the local community. We meet every week to get active and do a physical task to help the charities and community organisations and projects in our area.
This week we will help prepare the forest school paths. Prepare to use shovels and wheelbarrows.
Helping the caretaker lay woodchip on the path for the children to access the woods. It’s a short run or walk followed by a drink at the Phoenix café. 1km (plus some additional exercises if we have time. Maybe a drink after at the Phoenix cafe.
The Run/walk:
GoodGym is for everyone. We welcome runners of all abilities and it is often possible to walk to the task if you would prefer. We always have a back-marker so no-one is left behind - we're about achieving something together so you'll always be welcome no matter what your pace is.
Make sure you've read our general guidelines for safety for taking part in a GoodGym session.
This is a GoodGym group run, with the option of walking too. You'll meet other GoodGymers at the start location and run or walk to the task together. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact your area activator Paul Salman by email at pauls@goodgym.org.
Options are available to run between 1km and 3km in total.
Remember that we will be running or walking to and from the task, so you'll only be running or walking for half this distance in one go.
Poet, climber, gardener, environmental campaigner, teacher, editor - not necessarily - but usually - in that order.
There's space to change and leave bags and toilets. We're not planning to do anything purposefully dangerous, but GoodGym takes no responsibility for your safety during group runs, you participate at your own risk. Participants accept full responsibility for items stored at Phoenix Cinema, and Phoenix Cinema and GoodGym will not be held liable for any losses or damages.
Comments are a good place to ask any questions you may have about the session.
