For this session we're going to meet at the task, so you'll need to make your own way there. We encourage you to walk, run, or cycle to do so!
The group needs some help building planters. We will be shifting sleepers and assembling raised beds and filling raised beds with the help from a community gardener.
The impact on the community would be significant. You'll be helping create a level and accessible growing area where planters can be installed, allowing increased food production for the local community.
This will be a satisfying task with a great workout thrown in! Please bring gloves if you have them.
The project aims to grow fresh food with members of the local community. These planters will be located in the heart of the largest council estate in the UK and will help to increase food sovereignty within the area. Community members will be invited to harvest the fresh fruit, vegetables, and herbs they need, providing greater access to healthy, locally grown food while encouraging community connection, learning, and shared stewardship of the garden.
