About this session

We are heading back to Leith Community Croft, the site of our very first group run. Ali and the team were very keen to have us back as there's lots more to do!

The Community Croft is run by Earth in Common and is a cornerstone of community growing in Leith.

We are expecting to focus on revitalising the fruit patch during this visit, but there are several other spaces that need attention, including the herb garden and surrounding beds.

The team at Earth in Common think we can make a real difference in supporting their work to keep the site productive, welcoming, and accessible. There is also potential for our group to take responsibility for a small area in the croft, coming back to on a regular basis and seeing the fruits of our labour longer-term.

This visit is also a chance to learn more about community gardening and growing, the work of Earth in Common and make a real difference supporting their work.

We'll be hands‑on and getting grubby. Gloves and all equipment will be provided.

As usual we will be setting off from Edinburgh Street Food.

We are going to try a slightly later meet time of 6pm to see if this makes attending easier for people.

Setting off by 6.10pm so try not to be late!

What to look out for

Make sure you've read our general guidelines for safety for taking part in a GoodGym session.

This is a GoodGym group run, with the option of walking too. You'll meet other GoodGymers at the start location and run or walk to the task together. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact your area activator Dave Entwistle (he/him) by email at daveentwistle@goodgym.org.

The total distance of this group run is 5km.

Remember that we will be running or walking to and from the task, so you'll only be running or walking for half this distance in one go.
