Come and help Hanwell and Norwood Green Orchard Trail (HANGOT), a great organisation who plant fruit trees in public green spaces to encourage biodiversity and foraging for food. We help them to plant and maintain their orchards along the Grand Union Canal. For this session, we'll be joining HANGOT volunteers for one of their summer "work evenings".
We may be doing one or more of:

Not sure you'll keep up? GoodGym is for everyone (18+). Whether you've never run before, or are chasing a marathon PB, you are 100% welcome. We always have a back-marker so no one gets left behind.
What if I'm not a runner? 70% of GoodGym members start as non-runners so if you're new to this kind of thing you will be supported by people who are all on the same journey. ๐
If you're not comfortable running, you can also meet us at the task location in the description.
What do I need to wear? Most of us wear gym/running gear but this isn't required, so wear whatever you're comfortable working in. Make sure you're prepared for the weather.
Don't feel like you're fit enough? Our tasks are simple and fun. There are easy jobs as well as more challenging things for those who want a workout! The choice is always yours.
Hanwell and Norwood Green Orchard Trail is a local community project to plant and care for a trail of publicly accessible community orchards in the Grand Union Canal corridor in Hanwell and surroundings. Publicly accessible community orchards benefit humans, flora and fauna alike, and fruit is free to pick and enjoy. We planted over 150 fruit trees, hazels and rowans since January 2015 in over 12 locations between the Brentford and Southall borders, building nature and wildlife habitat improvements as well as a strong community of local volunteers with a shared sense of responsibility. We also planted hundreds of fruiting hedge plants. We work in close cooperation with Ealing Council park rangers, the Canal & River Trust, local schools and other community groups.

This is a GoodGym group run. You'll meet other GoodGymers at the start location and run to the task together. If you can't run for more than 15 minutes without stopping or you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact your area activator Kash by email at kash@goodgym.org.
Options are available to run between 3km and 7km in total.
Remember that we will be running to and from the task, so you'll only be running for half this distance in one go.
There's space to change and leave bags and toilets. We're not planning to do anything purposefully dangerous, but GoodGym takes no responsibility for your safety during group runs, you participate at your own risk. Participants accept full responsibility for items stored at Bodyline Studio, and Bodyline Studio and GoodGym will not be held liable for any losses or damages.
