Ealing Rangers would welcome some help improving the biodiversity of Elthorne Park by tackling the unruly burdock. Left unchecked, it can quickly overtake large areas, preventing other plants from thriving. Later in the season, it also produces sticky burrs that cling to dogsโ fur, clothes, and even GoodGymersโ hair! Luckily, the burrs havenโt appeared yet โ so itโs the perfect time to attack and curb the invasive plants before they become a nuisance. Weโll be digging, chopping, and collecting burdock to help keep balance to the area.
Not sure you'll keep up? GoodGym is for everyone (18+). Whether you've never run before, or are chasing a marathon PB, you are 100% welcome. We always have a back-marker so no one gets left behind.

What if I'm not a runner? 70% of GoodGym members start as non-runners so if you're new to this kind of thing you will be supported by people who are all on the same journey. ๐
What do I need to wear? Most of us wear gym/running gear but this isn't required, so wear whatever you're comfortable working in. Make sure you're prepared for the weather.
Is there a bag drop? No, we don't have a bag drop or changing facilities. If you're running to the task, please only bring what you are comfortable running with.
Do I need to know how to weed/marshal/make clothing packs/etc.? No, not at all. We have someone experienced to guide you at the task, either from the organisation that we're helping or one of our own task leaders.
Don't feel like you're fit enough? Our tasks are simple and fun. There are easy jobs as well as more challenging things for those who want a workout! The choice is always yours.

This is a GoodGym group run. You'll meet other GoodGymers at the start location and run to the task together. If you can't run for more than 15 minutes without stopping or you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact your area activator Kash by email at kash@goodgym.org.
Options are available to run between 4km and 6km in total.
Remember that we will be running to and from the task, so you'll only be running for half this distance in one go.
