Going up and down, that the way to go…

Adam, Katie, Kirsty and I met at the Leisure Centre. They supported me to practise for the Fitness Leader training for GoodGym.

As instructed during the training, I welcomed the team and described the plan for the session. We had not done a hill training for a while during our GG’s outings. So, we agreed to achieve 5 runs up the hill, at our own pace.

Adam, kindly accepted to be the tail runner.

The session started with some warmup exercises, followed by a gentle run round the park. Another runner, part of the Woking running community, joined us after his session at the gym.

Finally, we arrived at the bottom of the hill. As it was dark, it did not appear too daunting (to my relief!).

Up and down, we went… It was not easy, but we all did it! I was very proud of “my” GG team! We carried on with another gentle run in the park to cool down and ended the session with a few more stretches.

Adam, being the gentleman he is, walked me up to my block of flats before running back to the gym… Merci Adam!

Congratulations to Adam and James who completed the Weymouth half marathon last Sunday. Adam felt the course was not as flat as he had been told…

This coming Sunday you have two choices: either help at Woking junior parkrun or joining Wayne in Brookwood to help with setting up a train track for autistic children.

Just look on the website under “sessions” for more information. Otherwise, we hope to see you next Wednesday for a plogging evening!

Happy running to you all.
