Five Goodgymers met to tackle the jungle of Escrick station in an attempt to make it usable once again as a picnic site. After hearing a bit about the history of the site - originally a station on the London line constructed for the exclusive use of the local landowner - and the long struggle to incorporate it once again into the Solar System cycle path, we got to work hacking back the brambles, getting a fair few scratches on the way. We haven't quite managed to restore it yet to its former glory, but if you are passing and in need of somewhere to perch while eating a sandwich, it'll do the trick.
