It was lovely to be back at the allotment. We were working on the original plot that we started on many many months ago. As with anything in life, if you don’t maintain it , it gets out of hand... and the weeds were back ... not nearly as high as before but still a thymely reminder not to loose the plot! Keep onto of your weeds!

Regular gardeners Pam and Kam knew the difference between a bush and a weed, whereas I would never parsley the test on a gardening exam! Clearly no Charlie Dimmick!

World Affairs and just affairs in general

As we dug and pulled and picked out the weeds we chatted about anything and everything. The convo went from Eurovision and nil points to Boris’ alleged affair, Edwina and John Major’s affair (poor Norma), thankful we don’t have Trump but sad we don’t have Jacinda.

A day in the leaf of Jean

There is never a dill moment when Jean is at a task. Firstly, she told us how at this moment in time, she was on German TV!!

That was a bit mulch for my brain to take as clearly she was standing right there in front of me!

She explained how her Opera Singer Son was performing in Germany and the TV presenter had interviewed Jean earlier on that day, as he’d met her in the past and wanted to know how she was!

The conversation then went into WW2 and where Jean was during that period. She told us that as she lived in Cranford she stayed at home and wasn’t sent to the countryside. She remembers when doodlebugs used to fly overhead and hover over an area where they would release the missiles! Can you imagine that! Love listening to Jean’s stories

Already looking forward to next weeks episode of allot-enders
