*Festive fancy dress fun to celebrate 10 years of Parkwood Springs Forest Garden, since its creation in 2009 *

Today we celebrated Sheffield City Council Tree-rific Tim's contributions to the garden, and his leafing do (leaving SCC, but thankfully not Parkwood Springs volunteering :)

Our fancy dress outfits included: * Wonderful Worm Tim * GG Robin Hood Tall Tom * GG Green Women - Caroline and Kat
* Friends of Parkwood Springs (FoPS) Green Man Neil * Festive antennae worn by FoPS volunteers

Sadly GG Celine the Running and Weeding Machine was not well enough to join us :(

With a rainy start to the wintry day, we firstly got to work constructing the rain shelter, and dressing the garden up with balloons and bunting. While the kettles were heating up for our first cuppa together we made good progress de-grassing one the beds, and barrowing the unwanted turf to the compost pile.

Tasty sharing treats included: homemade - flapjacks, brownies, gingerbreads and bread, pringles, falafels and festive themed flavoured crisps.. nom nom nom.. yum!

Great quotes:

GG James: We are starting with a break?? Wonderful Worm Tim: I can't eat my sandwich through this hole! Wonderful Worm Tim: Your brownies have great massicity Tom :)

In between copious amounts of food and cuppas, FoPS presented Tim with a beautiful tree 'built environment' collage, and homemade 3D card which we all signed. The collage was made from photos of car parks.

We'll be continuing to support this great community project together in 2020 on the second Saturday of each month. Please join us in 2020 :)
