Twas a great morning at Ruskin Park Community Gardens with lovely GoodGym folk.

Once we'd all found our way, we had a few tasks to do:

🌱 Weeding in the fruit cages and by the brand new Healing garden(!) - There were some seriously big worms... must be a healthy garden!

🌿Taking branches out the compost and breaking them up into bits

💩Turning over the compost heap - nice and steamy - just how we like it.

What an excellent reason to get out of the house for some sun and fresh air before the clouds come over later!

Nice work everyone!

🧁BAKE OFF - for anyone wanting to join the GG Lambeth Bake off Sweet Stakes - here's a link to the whatsapp group and the Spreadsheet for picking your baker.

A source of education and enthusiasm for growing vegetables!

Ruskin Park Community Garden encourages inner city gardening to reduce the carbon output involved in food production and transport. At their weekly dig days, people can learn how to grow veg by doing. Their ethos is sustainability – reduce, reuse recycle – and inclusiveness – we want garden users to reflect the diversity of the neighbourhood. Harvested food is shared among the gardeners at each dig.
