Halloween afternoon saw Amy, Diya, Kanika and Sheila join Claire from Wild Eton Wick to help with their contribution to the #Plantabillionseeds initiative. Diya heroically attended despite having arrived on a long-haul flight just that morning, a valiant attempt to stave off jetlag with a spot of GoodGyming. A deluge of rain at the rendez-vous time threatened to disrupt the mission, but before long the clouds parted and a beautiful double rainbow appeared. We set to work, sowing the seeds in an existing patch of wildflowers, but with some different varieties, including yellow rattle which will weaken the grass and allow the other species to thrive. We went on to plant some daffodil bulbs to join the thousands already planted all over the village. Amy and Claire provided some exseedingly good cakes, which we enjoyed before we went our separate ways. We look forward to a return visit in the spring to see the resulting display
in conjunction with Eton Wick Waterways Group we are improving habitats through out the area and collecting base line survey information to contribute to the Parish biodiversity action plan and the Borough action plan. Mapping & Planning activities to improve biodiversity, strengthen ecosystems, make sustainable travel and outside activities safer all with the target of improving Climate Resilience and contributing to 30by30 and Carbon NetZero 2050
