16 awesome runners ran 3k to help out at More 2 Childcare!

It was our final group run of the year and everyone was feeling festive. We had Santa hats, fairy lights, Christmas jumpers... the works!! Oh and not forgetting a huge mountain of post run mince pies to look forward to. How can you not feel Christmassy after all that!

Another big 5-0!

It was time for the lovely Lee to sport the superman cape as he completed his 50th good deed last night. Great job Lee!!!

For our last run we headed back to More 2 Childcare which is a lovely local organisation run by Eve Daniels. It is a nursery as well as a community work hub that provides support for families and helps parents get back into work.

We had many a job to do, some a bit more technical than others. There were loads of chairs and tables to be washed, numbers to be bluetacked to the tree on the wall, windows to be washed, cots to be cleaned, a deep clean of the kids toilets as well as some hinges/doors to be fixed.

Tasks were assigned and everyone got going! Darryl and Steve bravely volunteered themselves for the cleaning of the kids toilets. I didn't see the "before" image but after about 2 minutes the bogs had been totally submerged in disinfectant... nice one lads! That's the way to do it!

As the minutes ticked on by, the place was getting cleaner and cleaner by the second. Our only issue was with the more technical tasks... one of which was fixing a cupboard door... which would have been fine if we could actually find said door...! Also a cot needed a new wheel but after tipping it upside down to fix it... ALL of the wheels fell off so turned out to be a bigger job than initially anticipated! One for the new year I think!

After about half an hour, we were just about done. Everything was sparkling bright and smelling nice. Just in time for Eve to get out Sid. Sid the snail. I'm not sure exactly what kind of snail he was, but it sure looked like he'd eaten a bit too much cucumber.. he was massive. It took a little while for him to come out of his shell (pardon the pun) but apparently when he gets moving, he's pretty speedy, contrary to the stereotypes. He had already started making his way up Eve's arm leaving a nice gooey snail trail. LUSH!

We took a group photo with our new mollusc mate and then headed back to the uni for a festive themed workout!

C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S-!

Since our run was fairly short, we had a bit of energy left for a fitness session. We spelled out the word Christmas with other things that began with those letters, C for calf raises, H for high knees etc etc! By the time we got down to the final S for strides it was time to call it a night and crack into those mince pies that were calling our names.

Great job last night everyone! Well done getting so much done. See you tonight at 7.30pm for our Christmas Bash!
