This morning I met up with Jack for a mission in Hackney for Ms K.

Ms K doesn't like to sleep in her bedroom at night because she's afraid of falling during the night if she needs to go to the toilet. To help with this, she's been given a commode to use in her bedroom. GoodGym were asked by a local partner if we could make some space for it in her bedroom.

Ms K greeted us warmly and started off by telling us a couple of rude jokes. I could instantly tell that we were going to get along 😉 We got along so well, in fact, that it took Jack and I a little while to get started on the main reason for our visit 😅

The main job was pretty simple, and consisted of rotating a chest of drawers 90 degrees inside the room and moving a chair, mirror and picture frame to a spare bedroom. Since we had a little extra time, Jack checked that Ms K's phone was working and I tuned in her bedroom TV (hopefully this will also make it easier for her to use her bedroom!). We also both peeled back the plastic from the commode and passed Ms K the instruction manual before getting back to chatting (Jack having put it through some pretty strict quality control checks 🤓)

After chatting with Ms K for a while, she made the mistake of mentioning food, which pointed out to me most poignantly that I was super hungry and should probably get something to eat before going to Camden's community mission by King's Cross. Consequently, we made our goodbyes and headed off.

Great seeing you again, Jack! Hope you make it to Hackney's group run and social this Tuesday! 😄🎉
