it is the season to plant trees! the trees are dormant and the weather is pretty mild! local social entreprise Kids Plant Trees are running 3 planting sessions on the same site starting from today, bringing together Sheffield City Council, parents and children and goodgymmers!

It was a fab atmosphere with GoodGym Parkwood Springs legend Treemendous Tim in attendance and showing kids and parents how to properly plant a tree, the most important step being the tree dance! this is to properly heel the tree in and ensure its roots have soil all around.

There were many species of trees: hornbeam, hazel, dogwood, witch elm, field maple etc.

I warmly recommend this session to all goodgymmers, for as little or as long as you want! a very kid friendly atmosphere! refreshments were also on offer, tree dancing is thirsty work!
