4 green fingered Goodgym folk (including first timer Kate- welcome!) joined us at one of the many residencies for the Single Homeless Project. We met with Lorena, the coordinator and keen gardener, and were lead through the property to a hidden garden space at the back.

Lots of potential for this area- Goodgym had previously laid loads of woodchip down for future projects about a year ago. However, a large flower bed takes up almost the whole garden, and lots of brambles and weeds have started to protrude through the bark chips and soil. Our objective is to move the planter to the side, to encourage the space to become a social gardening around.

Today, we got cracking with some weeding, some bramble shifting and some bush clipping, to make some immediate changes to the area before committing to a huge project! As we turned the soil, a very tame robin started to watch us with interest- hungry for worms, we suspect.

Within 50 minutes, the garden had been visibly tidied up, and was looking much sharper in comparison. All being we, we hope to make this a weekly task, so keep your eyes peeled on the community missions if you want to join us next time!
