A glorious Tuesday evening at the allotments surrounded by wonderful company..it was great to see an expectant mum sowing some kale seeds - the hard work we’ve been doing was to prepare the beds for new and expectant mums to use as a therapy garden. Tonight we ploughed through plot 4 to finish the job off to allow the mums to start getting to work!

Tonight though was a special night, it was Kam 100th good deed 👏

Now Kam has been a member for a while and we’ve done many a task together, we’ve run together but there are certain things I didn’t know about Kam..

Here are Kam’s Top 10 facts:

  1. She’s a Brummie at heart ❤️… born and bought up but left the Black Country to become a;

  2. Wessex… she lived in West Sussex for 23 years before becoming a;

  3. Sloughie … since 2018 she’s been learning how to walk like us and talk like us;

  4. Until she moved to Windsor to become the Queen’s Neighbour;

  5. In 1994 she went to Glastonbury to see…. Wait for it…. Oasis, Metallics, Blur, Kasabian, M People, Beastie Boys and Dolly Parton just to name a few;

  6. Kam, alongside Pam are our go to for gardening advice! She knows her roots from her shoots and her weeds from her seeds;

  7. She’s a scientist!!!! Which makes sense as she knows about ants from gardening and;

  8. Bodies from her weekly good deeds at the vaccine Centre… anty-bodies (get it!?);

  9. For her 50th year she decided to go on a solo holiday to Nepal to trek the Himalaya’s;

  10. And best of all, she joined us in 2018 when she was on the search for a run group and has never looked back (in anger)!

Huge well done Kam on reaching this brilliant milestone!

We are taking a little break from the allotments task now for a couple of weeks. We will plan another session in early July for the keen gardeners.
