6 runners joined us to run 4km last night for Earth hour, to run to do our first garden spring clean up of the year!

We set off at the usual location of Grand Central Lifeleisure at 6.30pm, with spring vibes in the air we did a bouncy and spring like warm up and a couple of yoga tree pose stretches to celebrate earth hour and looking after our planet. After the warm up we set off to Alexandra Park primary school to meet Peter at the school gates...... Once there Peter had a whole heap of tools and goodies to give out and a list of jobs that needed sorting, we were given the task to de-weed 6 large flower beds so that the new bulbs can be planted and new life can grow for the children to enjoy. We also emptied lots of flower pots that the children are going to re-plant flowers and strawberries in, so as well as helping the envirnoment the children will also learn how to grow plants and the importance of nature. It never stops amazing me how much the GoodGym team can get done in a short amount of time, the job on arrival seemed pretty big, but it got done in no time, in fact we still had time for a little play, i mean it would be rude not to have a play when in a playground right?! So we had a little circuit session using the tyres from the playground, we also used the play frame, some floor art and our imagination to work up a sweat, lots of fun for fitness was had, and then we all got to go in the staff room for a juice and a biscuit, how cool is that!

Welcome to Katie who did her first run with us, and didnt get lost! haha, well done, and while im giving out well done messages a massive well done to a regular goodGym Stockport member David for coming SECOND!!! in this wk end s Monsal Trail run, your gooooood David, were all very proud of you.

It was great to be out with it being slightly lighter last night, im really looking forward to the lighter nights ahead from next week when the clocks change! wooooooooooooo.

In the meantime, keep happy and keep running,

Lisa xx
