Early on a Sunday morning 3 goodgymers met at Colchester zoo to help out with Colchester Stamepede half marathon. We arrived about 7ish and two new goodgymers, Emily and Simon arrived for their first task! We found each other in the crowd of volunteers and were informed that we’d be manning the water station.

There wasn’t a lot for us to do first thing so after checking in and getting our Marshall packs (which contained a tambourine!) we were able to enjoy some of the pre- race entertainment.

There was a bit of confusion getting us out to the water station which was 2 and a half miles out so after a mad dash just before the race we got stuck behind the runners! Luckily we got there as majority of runners were coming by and were able to quickly start dishing out waters to the thirsty runners!

We spent the next few hours, cheering on and supporting the runners. Even seeing a few friendly goodgymers in the midst, well done Dan and Susie!
